	Objectives of the Trust The Trust's principal object is to educate the public in the history of the Midland Railway Company, by exhibition of collection items held by the Trust and by facilitating electronic or other access to information contained in the original documents that form part of the collection. The principal way in which the Trustees are meeting this educational objective is through the Midland Railway Study Centre which contains the vast majority of the Collection and to which the public has controlled access in a manner similar to the national and local record offices and reference libraries. Since its opening in 2004, the Study Centre has been considerably enlarged, resulting in much easier access to all parts of the collection - particularly the three-dimensional items. Back to Top
